This is an easy recipe to make the chutney which goes with many South Indian dishes.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
3-4 chopped big Tomato
2 finely chopped green chilies
3-4 garlic cloves grated
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
5-7 curry leaves
1 pinch asafoetida
Oil for cooking
Salt to taste
1. In pan, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, urad dal. When mustard seeds starts spluttering add pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves and green chilies, saute for a minute. Now add chopped tomato and grated garlic and cook until tomato are soft and become like a thick paste for around 4-5 minutes.
2. Serve tomato chutney with any South Indian dishes like idly, dosa or medu vada, It taste good at room temperature.
