Two countries which are very dear to me are going through tough weather. India especially Mumbai is flooded with rain and Canadians are burning in heat. Both these weather makes many people sick. Because of rain, Indians are suffering from diarrhea as flooding creates a lot of bacteria. If anyone eats anything outside during this time gets sick very easily. Due to extremely hot weather in Canada, food gets spoiled very quickly and people get sick with stomach flu or diarrhea.
I have shared many home remedies with you all and strongly believe in it. This is my mother-in-law’s recipe. She passed away one year back but whenever I prepare this, it takes me back to the memory lane. She used to prepare it for our family and now I prepare it for my family. I have seen the results so I thought why not share this with my followers.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5-7 minutes
Ingredients:
2 cups water
Small piece of ginger
10-12 black pepper
Small pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tsp caraway seeds
Little pinch of salt
Lemon juice
Procedure
Crush all the ingredients using mortar and pestle. In a small pot, add water and the crushed spices. Bring water to boil then simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Water will turn brown. Turn off the heat. Pass it through strainer. Add lemon juice and drink warm.
This water provides immediate relief with stomach ache. It is spicy so tone it down if someone cannot handle too much spices. If you are preparing it for a child, add minimum spices. The flavours are amazing. It’s a must try!
Share with your family and friends so someone who needs it can benefit from it.
