Spiced Water for New Mothers

Hello Friends,

Recently I have helped my daughter with her delivery so I decided to write as many recipes I can, so someone in need can benefit. You must have checked out my Nutritional Squares for Mothers To Be or New Mothers recipe for someone who is in her 9th month of pregnancy or new mother. Also Ginger Candies for the mothers who are going through labour or birth of the baby and Katlu Pak for new mother to help in recovery process. I also posted the recipe of Raab which is very easy to prepare and has the same benefits as Katlu Pak.

There are many other things we do to help new mom to recover quickly. New mom also need to be careful of what she eats because this directly affect the baby. We don’t let her drink plain or raw water. We make sure she drinks this spiced water at least for 45 days. This helps her in digestion which can directly help baby in gas trouble or constipation.

We add many spices when we make this water like dry ginger, pipramul (ganthoda), embelia ribes (vavding), carom seeds (ajwain), caraway or dill seeds (suva dana), cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods. You can add any of these spices and bring the water to boil. Once ready, let it cool down and then pass through cheese cloth to remove whole spices. Then use it.

Preparation Time: 0 minutes

Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes

Ingredients:
5-6 glass of drinking water
1 tsp carom seeds
1 tsp caraway or dill seeds
1-2 cinnamon sticks
1-2 cardamom pods
8-10 vavding

Procedure

In a big pot, add water and all other ingredients. Bring the water to boil and boil for few minutes so water-colour will change to light brown. Turn off the heat. When water cools down completely, pass it through clean cheese cloth and then use it.

Prepare this water daily. New mom should only drink this water as this will help her and baby in digestion of food. I would suggest any new mom to try this water as this is not going to harm but will be very beneficial.

Share with your family and friends so someone who needs it can benefit from it.
