Hello Friends,
You must have checked out my Nutritional Squares for Mothers To Be or New Mothers recipe for someone who is in her 9th month of pregnancy or new mother.
Dry ginger is also known as sooth, sonth or sunth in different parts of India. These candies we call it sooth goli are especially prepared for the mothers who are going through child-birth or labour pain or contractions.
I remember my mom kept these candies ready when I was in my last days before my kids birth. These are for someone who is very close to my heart. So when she goes in labour, I will give her these candies one at a time after every hour or so. It will help in speeding up the process of baby’s birth. I will also give her dry ginger powder added warm milk before we leave for hospital.
I would suggest to talk to your doctor before trying anything.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Ingredients:
1 tbsp dry ginger (adrakh) powder
big lump of jaggery (gud) break in tiny pieces
Clarified butter (ghee)
Procedure
Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl using hand. Make sure there are no lumps of jaggery. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed. Make marble size candy and store in dry container. It can stay good outside at room temperature for few days.
Keep it ready few days before the birth and give it to mother when her contraction starts. These candies are good to eat before and after baby’s birth. You can also feed it to someone with heavy cold.
Share with your family and friends so someone who needs it can benefit from it.
