Mango Mousse

Dear Friends,

It is the time of the year when mangoes are available in plenty. It is one of my most favourite fruits 😛 :P. I try to use it in as many ways as possible whether as mango chutney, salsa, kulfi, pickle or mousse.
I had invited my family over for dinner and I knew that they all love pani puri so I decided to make pani puri for dinner….yup we can eat pani puri as a full meal XD XD. I was thinking of making something for dessert and since I had tons of ripe mangoes at home, I decided to make mango mousse.  You need just 4 ingredients to prepare this cool desert. This recipe does not require eggs or gelatin. Everyone licked their glass and some went for seconds including myself XD XD.

Preparation Time: Varies depending on how you whip the cream

Cooking Time: 0 minutes

Ingredients:
473 ml whipping cream
4 tbsp icing sugar or as per your taste
1 tbsp milk powder
2 cup mango pulp
1 ripe mango chopped in small pieces and mint leaves for garnishing

Procedure:
1. Make mango pulp using ripe sweet mango and put in the fridge.

2. Before you start whipping the cream, place whipping cream, a metal mixing bowl and metal whisk into the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes.  When you are ready, pour cold cream in cold mixing bowl. You can also put ice cubes underneath mixing bowl which will help to whip it much quicker. Whip until it starts to thicken then add icing sugar and milk powder. Continue to whip until it forms a soft peak. ( I used Vitamix so I put jar in the fridge for half hour before I started. I poured cooled whipping cream in Vitamix jar, covered the lid, quickly increased speed variable from 1 to 10, in less than 1 minute cream started to thicken. Then I added icing sugar and milk powder. Again started variable speed 1 to 10 and then to high. You will hear motor sound change, that’s when you know it’s done).

3. With flat spatula, fold whipped cream with mango pulp. You can now fridge this for few hours or start filling the glass immediately.

4. Fill a wine glass or a small glass bowl with mango mousse. Garnish with few mango pieces and fresh mint leaves.

Must try this very easy to make mango mousse which is so creamy and delicious 😛 😛 , especially on hot summer days. I am sure you won’t stop at just one glass XD XD.

Also let me know if you have any questions regarding this dish.
