Dear Friends,
Here is the quickest and easiest recipe which is super delicious and healthy. During fall season, we get lots of apples. It is hard to eat too many apples so this is perfect. I have tried to make healthier version by using honey and jaggery instead of sugar. I have also added cardamom powder to give Indian flavour. I can guarantee it will be a hit among kids, young and adults. Try it yourself and you will be surprised how good it taste.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 35-45 minutes
Ingredients:
4-5 McIntosh apple cut in to 1/2 cm cubes (any apple which hold the shape after baking)
1-2 pears cut in to small cubes
1/4 cup honey
Small pinch of Cardamom powder
Small pinch of Cinnamon powder
Tiny pinch of salt
2 tbsp corn starch
For Crumble
2 cup quick oats
1/3 cup of jaggery or brown sugar
1/2 cup cold butter cut in cubes
10-15 almonds chopped
Procedure:
1. Prepared apple and pears for crumble by chopping in small cubes. In a mixing bowl, add chopped fruits, honey, small pinch of cardamom and cinnamon powder, slight salt to enhance the flavour and corn start. Mix well and spread in a baking dish.
2. To make the crumble topping, mix quick oats, jaggery or brown sugar, cold butter cut in to small cubes and chopped almond in another mixing bowl. Break butter cubes with hands while mixing in the oat mixture.
3. Spread oat mix on top of apple pear mix in baking dish. Preheat oven at 350F. Bake apple pear crumble for around 35-40 minutes or until top is golden brown in colour.
