Hello Friends,
I make regular vegetarian pizza from scratch all the time. I was thinking of making gluten-free pizza for a long time so I decided to give it a try. When it came out of oven, the base was little soft and in few minutes it was harden. The taste was soooo wonderful. Since it is healthy version of pizza, didn’t feel guilty eating more. Now this pizza is my favourite and will be cooked in my house more often. This recipe serves 1 person.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
For Dough
2 boiled potato grated
1/2 cup ground oat/oat flour
1/2 tsp Caraway seeds
Pinch of oregano
Salt to taste
For Filling
Pizza sauce
Few slices of tomato, mushroom, canned pineapple, green pepper, green and black olives, picked jalapeno or any vegetable of your choice
Pinch of crushed chill flakes (optional)
Mozzarella cheese
Few drops of oil
Procedure:
1. In a big mixing bowl, grate 2 boiled skin removed potato. Add oat flour, oregano, caraway seeds and salt. Knead into Dough. You won’t need water to make dough. TIP: It is always good idea to rub caraway seeds and Oregano between your palms it will enhance the flavour.
2. Roll the dough into 1/2 inch thick base. Oil pizza pan and transfer the base in it. Heat the oven at 350F and bake the base for 20 minutes or until it is hard and you can carefully lift it.
3. When you are ready to make pizza, spread 1st layer pizza sauce then add grated cheese and all the topping. Add crushed chili flakes if you like it spicy. Bake at 375F for 12-15 minutes and another 2 minutes on broil.
4. Enjoy the warm pizza with soda or salad on side. You will notice caraway seeds and oregano gives pizza base a distinct flavor which everyone will love and enjoy 🙂 .
After eating this pizza, I am sure you will want to have more. Have fun cooking this pizza with your own topping choices. I like my pizza sweet, sour and spicy….yum. Always remember to listen to your body. If you think oats doesn’t suit your stomach, try using rice flour instead.
