Dear Friends,
I always used store-bought taco seasoning but realize I need to put lot more to get the flavour I need in my Mexican food. I decided to give it a try at home and came up with this recipe idea. This seasoning can be used in all Mexican cuisine. It has lot more strong flavour so you only need to use little.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 minutes
Ingredients:
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tbsp black pepper
2 tsp paprika (Kashmiri chili powder)
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp red chili powder
1 1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp salt
Procedure
1. Dry roast cumin seeds and black pepper corns for 1-2 minutes.
2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl including cumin seeds and black pepper corns.
3. Grind spice mix in to powder using dry grinder. It is now ready to use. Store in airtight jar.
Hope you will enjoy making this spice blend. Use it while making burritos, taco or any Mexican cuisine.
Also let me know if you have any questions regarding the dish.
