Dear Friends,
This is also called sweet chutney. I usually make a bottle full of chutney at once and freeze it. It is very easy to make and can be eaten with bhel, sevpuri, fritter or cutlet. You can add little water to adjust the consistency when you are ready to use it.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Ingredients:
500 gm dates seeded and cut in small pieces
1 tbsp tamarind paste
1 big piece of jaggery/1 tbsp sugar (optional)
1 pinch of salt
1/4 tsp red chili powder
Procedure:
1. Soak seeded dates and piece of jaggery in boiling water for 2-3 hours. Only add little water to soak dates.
2. In a mixer jar, add soaked dates jaggery mixture, tamarind paste, salt and red chili powder. Make a smooth paste. Store in glass bottle and freeze it.
Try this very easy to make chutney which is ready in few minutes using the ingredients from your pantry. Dates are rich in dietary fiber, which prevents LDL cholesterol absorption in the gut. Dates are also an excellent source of iron. Enjoy this chutney guilt free. You can avoid jaggery or sugar completely as dates are already very sweet.
Also let me know if you have any questions regarding this chutney.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Until next time!
