Gluten Intolerance

Gluten Free Recipes

Dear Friends

I came across this page and thought to share with my friends. There is not much awareness about gluten intolerance in some parts of the world.

What is Celiac?
Celiac disease — also known as celiac sprue or gluten-sensitive enteropathy — is a digestive and autoimmune disorder that results in damage to the lining of the small intestine when foods with gluten are eaten. Gluten is a form of protein found in some grains. The damage to the intestine makes it hard for the body to absorb nutrients, especially fat, calcium, iron, and folate.

Too complicated isn’t it? In simple terms, Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. People with gluten intolerance should avoid eating any products made of these ingredients. Gluten also shows up in many whole grain foods related to wheat, including bulgur, farro, kamut, spelt, and triticale (a hybrid of wheat and rye). Some celiac disease experts warn patients to steer clear of oats, as well.

Even though some people may have Gluten intolerance, they can still enjoy the food they love. Hence I started this blog. I have been trying to cook and share lots of gluten-free dishes so people with Gluten intolerance find new recipes/ideas to cook. Of course they will have to decide what suits their body and make changes to the recipe.

Try some of my dishes and have fun cooking!

Thanks for visiting by blog.
